Pre-procedure
  • Topical retinoids must be discontinue two weeks prior to treatment and for one week after treatment

  • Notify your technician if you were taking Accutane

  • If you have herpes Simplex you will need to start your antiviral prophylaxis five days prior to receiving treatment and continue for five days post treatment. However, some patients even after using prophylaxis will experience an activation of herpes simplex after the procedure.

  • You will be prescribed numbing cream prior to The procedure. It will be available for pick up the day before. Make sure you apply the numbing cream to clean skin 30 minutes prior to your arrival to the treated area.

  • If you purchased the Alastin duo kit (highly recommended for collagen building) Apply nectar to skin Am/Pm 7-14 days prior to treatment. The duo kit promotes the clearing and elimination of old broken down collagen and elastin. Contraindications
  • Impaired immune system

  • Skin allergy

  • Individuals who are pregnant or breast-feeding should not be treated

  • Skin cancer

  • Bleeding disorders (including vascular disease)

  • The daily use of anticoagulants

  • Skin disorders (keloid scarring, abnormal wound healing, psoriasis, eczema, rash sores, open wounds, severe active inflammatory acne or oral herpes Simplex break out, or infection)

  • Electronic implants (pacemakers, insulin pump, LVAD, etc.)

  • Metal plates within treatment area

  • Synthetic fillers or botulinum toxins (wait a minimum of two weeks before or after injections)

  • Metal allergy

Post treatment instructions
  • A certain degree of discomfort, redness, and/or irritation during and after treatment is expected. If any discomfort or irritation persist more than 24 hours please notify balanced soul wellness.

 

  • Tiny scabs (of less than 1 mm) May form 24-72 hours post treatment and may remain for several days. The scabs should not be touched or scratched (even if they itch) and should be allowed to shed naturally.

 

  • During the first two (2) days following treatment, care should be taken to prevent trauma to the treated site: avoid hot baths, massage, irritating skin care products or exfoliants, ET see. The skin should be kept clean to avoid contamination or infection; any mechanical or thermal damage to the area must be avoided. 

  • For burning sensation, spritz the treatment area with a diluted vinegar solution (1 teaspoon white vinegar per 8 ounces of water)

 

  • It is important to keep your skin moisturized after the treatment. We will apply nectar cream immediately post procedure. Do not wash your face until the next morning. If you purchased the Alsatian duo kit (highly recommended) Continue nectar cream AM/PM for 3 days post procedure. Day 4 switch to restorative skin complex AM/PM. If you do not have the duo kit apply a gentle moisturizer.

 

  • 24 hours post procedure, patients can resume their normal skin care regimen or as directed by your provider. However patient should avoid the use of alcohol-based toners for at least 2 weeks.

 

  • Vigorous activity, excessive heat or sun exposure must be avoided for at least one week post treatment

 

  • You may have mild swelling for 1-3 days after your treatment. Patients may apply an ice pack (NOT Direct ice) to the irritated area for 1-2 days in approximately 15 minute sessions 3-4 times per day.

 

  • Redness for 1-3 days is common. After 12 hours post procedure, the patient may apply hydrocortisone cream 3-4 times per day to reduce redness.

 

  • Make up can be applied 12 hours after treatment.

 

  • Avoid prolong sun exposure or use of tanning bed for at least two weeks after the treatment, as the skin that was treated will be more sensitive to the sun after your sublative treatment. When outdoors, use an umbrella and/or wear a hat to protect the treatment area from sunlight. This will help decrease the chance of hyperpigmentation.

 

  • Use a minimum of SPF 30 daily to protect your skin after your treatment.


 

Post procedure risk
  • Erythema /redness of skin)

  • Inflammation (swelling)

  • Bronzing (The treatment area usually turns brown)

  • Brown crusting (Will shed and reveal younger healthy looking skin)

  • Hyperpigmentation

  • Hypopigmentation

  • Scarring
